Overview
Holiday Inn Disney Springs is an excellent resort located on Hotel Plaza Blvd, right on Disney property. It consists of a tower and an attached wing, which wraps around a courtyard that contains the pool area.

The reasonably-sized pool is zero entry for accessibility. There are plenty of deck chairs for sunny days, and a hot tub off to the side. Next to the pool area, there is a seating area with a window to the bar inside. The pool area also has a ping pong table and a nice herb garden.

The center of the tower, next to the bar area and just passed the lobby, has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, since it has not been open due to the pandemic, I cannot fairly comment on it further. The bar area serves food and has a grab-and-go section as well.

To one side of the restaurant area are the elevators for the tower. Because of the open layout inside the tower, it is easy to get right to the elevators and up to the room-no wasting time searching for an elevator. Another hallway leads straight from the lobby in between the bar and restaurant, heading for the wing rooms. The arcade and fitness center are down this way too.

There’s a lot to like about this property. Its location right on property makes it hugely convenient for those visiting the parks, and an easy 10-minute walk to Disney Springs shopping and entertainment district (handy for those who want to enjoy a few drinks after a long park day).
Rooms

The rooms themselves are fairly basic, with a desk, refrigerator, dresser, nightstand, and bed(s). The only real differentiation between rooms is the view and whether there is a balcony.

Not all rooms have balconies-try to get on that does. Not only are the views amazing (especially if you have pool/Disney view), but it also serves as a great place for breakfast/coffee break.

Pros
First, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Not only were the lobby and dining area well-kept, but the rooms were also in excellent condition. Beyond the general cleanliness is the lighting, no part of the hotel feels dark or dingy. Further, the layout flows very well. The lobby leads into the bar, pool area, and restaurant. Everything is very well signposted, though it is very easy to get around without them.

Another excellent quality is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. All of the front desk agents, bartenders, housekeepers, and valets I have encountered at the resort have been enthusiastic and willing to help.
Finally, the amenities included in the resort fee are better than any other Hotel Plaza Boulevard resort. While no one likes to pay extra fees, it is clear where these go during your stay: free bottled water in the rooms, free shuttle to the parks, and two free alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks from the bar are included.

Overall, I find the Holiday Inn Disney Springs to be a very laid-back, sensible resort. The lobby, bar, restaurant, pool area, and elevators are all laid out in a streamlined manner that makes it almost impossible to get lost.
Cons
It is hard to find many faults with this property. Like any hotel, not all of the rooms are desirable. Some rooms are in the tower, while others are in the attached wing. A few of the rooms in the wing face outside the resort towards the parking lot, and the ones on the first floor have patios right on the parking lot. Moreover, the rooms in the tower that face I4 can be quite noisy. Consequently, light sleepers should request rooms away from the back of the tower if possible.

Another potential point of contention is the addition of a parking fee and resort fee to the base room rate. While this is standard of other Hotel Plaza Boulevard resorts, it is still worth bringing up. However, consider that these fees do go to demonstrable benefits like water bottles in the rooms, two included drinks, and an hourly shuttle to the Disney Parks.
One other possible con for some is that despite the hotel’s size, the lobby is fairly small. As a result, it can feel sort of tight during busy check in times with people coming and going. However, the area is open enough with the bar and restaurant adjacent to the check-in area that it never feels claustrophobic.

Should You Stay Here?
Holiday Inn Disney Springs is my go-to option for an affordable weekend at Disney World. I have stayed at all of the Hotel Plaza Resorts, but I keep returning to this one. It is one of several Hotel Plaza Boulevard resorts, but I think its cleanliness, friendly staff, and sensible layout put it above the rest. Not only is it located on Disney property, but it also allows guests to link reservations to the My Disney Experience app for park reservations. I consider it to be the best of the Hotel Plaza Resorts, and wholeheartedly recommend.
